Another One Bites The Dust: VIBE

Christina M. and The Dream do the very last VIBE cover ever. Yeah um.....this is the most low budget bootleg cover they've ever done. Times were cuh-learly hard as hell. I almost renewed my subscription after Mitzi Miller's rather fantastic Usher interview....one of the very best editorials in the magazine for the last year. Everything comes to end at some point and despite the obvious decline in substance, style, etc. it's been fun VIBE. Not too long ago you gave me something to look forward to each month. Thank you for being the voice of a generation and a culture.

Crack Is Wack....But Coochie Is Literally Mind Blowing!

I stared at this picture for quite some time. It seems this is what Lindsay Lohan chose to wear and look like for her birthday celebration. Wow. We all knew she was a crack head, but that Samantha (her girlfriend/ex-girlfriend) must have a mean coochie game cuz since she dumped Lindsay (then took her back) LaLohan has been more than a hot mess. She really doesn't even care anymore. It's like her mind has literally been blown and she can no longer function. Tragic.

Fashion Over Michael Jackson Tribute?

So we know that Chris Brown didn't get to perform at the BET Awards because Jay-Z told BET that he and Beyonce wouldn't show up let alone perform if Chris Brown hit that stage. (We also know that LeToya Luckett wasn't allowed to perform because Yonce's daddy told BET Yonce wouldn't if LeToya touched that stage but what else is new.) I believe Covergirl, a major endorser for BET, also said they would pull their sponsorship if Chris performed.

So the only other artist that would have been able to handle a Michael Jackson tribute and do it justice, is Usher. Why wasn't he there? Seems he was busy sitting front row with Karl Lagerfield at the Dior Homme fashion show.

He sent in this statement:

“It is with regret that I am unable to participate in the BET Awards Tribute to Michael Jackson on June 28th. When the BET Awards producers and organizers reached out to me to participate in the tribute, I was extremely flattered and humbled by the opportunity to pay tribute to the world’s greatest musical icon. Unfortunately, I am currently overseas and would not make it back in time to the Awards show. I look forward to seeing the show and I plan to work on a tribute to Michael Jackson when I return.”

Something tells me that if Usher really wanted to get his ass to the show, he could have. I dunno...maybe it was more important for him to watch hot men walk the catwalk.

Prince, Paris, and Blanket....

They may not have Michael's DNA but they are going to remain Jacksons. According to a British tabloid, Debbie Rowe don't want dem kids. Regarding the process of how the kids were made, she refers to herself as being the equivalent to a horse.

"I was never a good mother, I never felt any attachment to them. It was a better feeling giving them to him than it was keeping them as my own. I know I will never see them again. I was never cut out to be a mother - I was no good. I don't want these children in my life. My children are my animals now." Debbie explained that, "Michael was divorced, lonely and wanted children. I was the one who said to him, 'I will have your babies'. I offered him my womb - it was a gift. It was something I did to keep him happy. I was just the vessel. It wasn't Michael's sperm." Debbie explained the arrangement revealing, "I went to the 'office', which is what we called the medical clinic. They impregnated me. It's just like I impregnate my mares for breeding. It was very technical. Just like I stick the sperm up my horse, this is what they did to me. I was his thoroughbred."

And there it is. If this is indeed true, Blanket won't be separated from his brother and sister and Mama Katherine and Michael's siblings will make sure that those kids are taken care of. They may even learn about who their father really was, where he came from, and the importance of his life not just to them but to the world.

The Gist: BET AWARDS 2009

I was soooooo ready to be give The Gist and talk about the amazingness that was the BET Awards. Yeah ummmmmm, not so much. I completely understand that BET only had three days to re-vamp the BET Awards so that they could pay tribute to Michael Jackson because there was no way that the show could have gone on without a serious MJ tribute....HOWEVER, something tells me that if Michael were still alive and the show went on as normal, he would think that show was a boring ass hot mess just as I did.

The best part of the show was Jamie Foxx. His hosting and his Michael Jackson tributes were all highlights. I love how all the media is making sure to include one specific line in their editorials and recaps and that is when Jamie said: "He belongs to us and we shared him with everybody else. ... It didn't make a difference what he looked like. It matters what he sounded like." You know there a certain people who don't want to hear that. But people do need to know that no matter what, he is ours forever and always.

The most important moment was when Janet came out to let us all know how she and her family are feeling. Ultimately, Janet's moment was the show.

I could talk about how Tiny really is the fugliest smidget in the world who can't speak English. But how many times can I say that? I could recommend that Ne-Yo keeps a hat on...I understand that er'now and then you wanna switch it up, but let's stick with what works boo. I could also talk about how boring Yonce's Ava Maria performance was or why her tribute to Michael Jackson was being all shy and acting like she never won an award before. Ciara singin "Heal the World" hmmmmmmmmm...my Audrina eyes were on full blast. Maybe Keyshia Cole shouldn't duet with people who can out sing her on ridiculous levels. (Props to Monica for sangin as per always.) Should Lil Wayne's daughter and other lil girls be on stage while he and his crew are performing songs about how many girls they wanna screw? Especially when he 'allegedly' has babies coming at the same time from two 'girls' he likes...I dunno. I could talk about such things, but I won't.

I will say that New Edition's "Stop the Love You Save" performance was really good, I enjoyed Tyrese, Trey Songz, and Johnny Gills tribute to The O'Jays (all three of them looked great and sounded even better), Maxwell was luscious and fantastic as I knew he would be, I am very pleased Jay-Z got a hair cut, and I loved the Humanitarian tribute to Alicia Keys and Wyclef. I will also point out that Alicia looked amazing - gorgeous.

That about sums it up. Joe Jackson was in the audience and on the red carpet he said he wished we had done this for Michael while he was still here. He's bigger now than he ever was. I think I understand where he's coming from....somewhere along the line we all kind of let Michael go and do his thing where ever he was doing it. However, I think while Michael was alive and doing what he did best - entertaining us all - we showed him how much we loved him. I take comfort knowing that no matter how or why he had to leave us, in his heart he knew that he was our King, that it all started with him, and that there was no one before him, there will be no one after him and he is LOVE.

Remember The Time...

When Michael Jackson guest starred on The Simpsons (back when it was still funny and Family Guy didn't come and make cartoon families waaaaaaay funnier)? That was one of my favorite episodes! Here's a clip...

Oh Michael...I just told Dirty Diana to Keep It In The Closet. I Just Can't Stop Loving You! I Want You Back! Sigh...I'm off to Heartbreak Hotel for some more Patron shots.

Michael Jackson: The Legend...and Philanthropist

My friend just sent a text to tell me that every store has sold out of every Michael Jackson CD and that it is Michael Jackson mania all over the place...it's like the 80's again. Of course this isn't surprising...a world idol has gone to moon walk with the angels. I too will be making sure I have everything MJ that I've always said I had to replace or add to the collection and just never got around to it. And I was having a discussion and I was talking about how much money Michael is going to make in death. Out.Of.Control. And so what happens? Does it go to Blanket and em'? Of course it will, but let us not forget that Michael Jackson was one of the most charitable and giving entertainers EVER.

Before I talk about that I also wanted to mention that in my original post after learning of Michael's passing, I talked about how I believe he had issues with his image and where he came from, hence his altered appearance. What I think I, and many others fail to remember, is that he did have issues but many of those internal conflicts stemmed from that fact that his was abused by his father, mentally, emotionally and physically. His father's 'nickname' for him was "Big nose"...it makes sense. Even more so, his first nose job wasn't because his father called him that....it was because he broke his nose while rehearsing for a concert. From that point on he was never happy with his nose and continued to get further work on it which obviously didn't help. In regards to his changing skin tone....he indeed had vitiligo and Lupus (which I just learned) which effected his skin and the medication he took for those illnesses along with the make-up to even out the blotches caused his skin to become lighter. Yes he had other surgeries and it has been said he suffered from eating disorders as well as body dysmorphic disorder - a psychological condition whereby the sufferer has no concept of how they are perceived by others BUT the point here is that at the end of the day, at the end of his life none of that matters.

What does matter is that while he was here, he not only brought us joy, amazed and entertained us consistently for years, he not only was the first Black artist with a video on MTV, he not only sold 750 million albums worldwide, he also helped millions of people all over the world.

Did you know that:

After Michael's hair caught on fire making that Pepsi commercial that he gave all the settlement money to the Michael Jackson Burn Center that he started to help burn victims?

That in 1984 when The Jacksons did their Victory Tour Michael donated $5 million from his share of the proceeds to charity?

That during his Bad World Tour in each country he stopped in, he let poor and unprivileged children come see the show for free and gave millions away to orphanages and charities?

That from 1985 to 1990 Michael donated $500,000 to the United Negro College Fund?

That ALL the profits from his single "Man in the Mirror" went to charity?

That in 1992 he founded The Heal the World Foundation which allowed underprivileged children to go to his ranch and ride his rides and have a day they would otherwise never imagine, let alone actually get to experience? It also raised money for children and victims of war and disease around the world.

AND that ALL the profits from his Dangerous World Tour went to The Heal the World Foundation?

The list actually goes on. We all love him for his genius and his fantastic ability to make us FEEL his music but we forget or never even knew the major impact he has on the world through his generosity and desire for world peace and happy children.

I don't know how else to say that I LOVE MICHAEL JACKSON. Will ALWAYS LOVE MICHAEL JACKSON. He has taken a piece of my heart with him.

Um yes, F.U. has one of those...when it melts.

So You Think You Can Dance: By The Way...

Jonathan and Asuka danced for their lives but it wasn't enough. I really can't care right now. I'm in mourning. However, Nigel's words were very much appreciated. He talked about how Michael Jackson is the reason for the show So You Think You Can Dance - specifically pointing out his video for "Black or White" which had Michael including dances from all over the world. Michael is the reason dancers wanted to dance. How many of you put Vaseline on the bottom of your shoes tryna moon walk? How many of you tried to the point of bustin your ass to do the lean forward move that Michael does in Smooth Criminal? Do you not still do the Thriller dance every time it comes on? Did not a thousand Asian prisoners do the Thriller dance in the jail court yard? Do you not bust out the Remember the Time routine as soon as you hear the song? He just inspired people, brought people together, allowed us to love music and a person unanimously.

Thanks to Michael Jackson, yeah, I think I can dance.

Human Nature: Michael Jackson Is Gone

Some things you just don't expect to hear about on a regula schmegula June day. Michael Jackson, thee Michael Jackson, Thriller Michael Jackson, Dangerous Michael Jackson, Beat It Michael Jackson, Dirty Diana Michael Jackson, Glitter Glove Michael Jackson, Moon Walking Michael Jackson, Captain EO Michael Jackson, Smooth Criminal Michael Jackson, King of Pop Michael Jackson, The Jackson 5 Michael Jackson, The KING of Pop Michael Jackson died today.

I think we all have our opinions about Michael Jackson. I personally believe that, sadly, he had deep issues with himself, his image, and where and who he came from, and that made him slowly destroy himself. Visually he altered his appearance and who knows what else he did to himself...which I believe, may not have killed him but prolly played a major part in his death. Despite all that, I'm distraught. Just shocked and sad.

He was only 50 years old, but he's been working since he was like 5 and he's lived an extraordinary life. And more than anything, he will be CELEBRATED! Michael Jackson will forever be the best to have ever done it. The best entertainer ever in the world of all time. I can't even fully express the impact that Michael has had on my life, and all of our lives.

Bye, Michael. I hope you now truly find peace. You will be missed. THANK YOU for making our lives better.

Love you, mean it.

I'm now off to play my most favorite song ever.....

So You Think You Can Dance: 16 Make It Do Wut It Do!

When Toni Basil said she was gettin the Legend of Hip-Hop award (wearin that hat)....I had to google her. *Side eye moves back center...slowly*

More importantly, it's time for the top 8 couples to get it crackin. Let's get it!

Karla and Jonathan: Hip-Hop

Ummmm, Hated It! That was horrible. Hip-Hop ain't for er'body. Jonathan had no bizness. The only reason it wasn't a total catastrophe was because they actually did the steps. This had nothing to do with Dave Scott (like how it had a lot to do with Shane Sparks) - I like his choreography - this was all them not being able to do da damn dance. Sucked Ass!

Side note...Nigel, no need to take bets boo. Unless every other couple is da worst ever, they will be in the bottom three. And KARLA...when Cat was telling us all to vote for you and said call 888-blah blah 01 - as in 01 for the first couple to perform - why were you holding up the number 2??? People damn sure ain't gonna vote for your ass now...you don't even know that you were the first couple to perform and Cat is literally saying the number to call. Damn girl, not only can't you do Hip-Hop but you might be an idiot too. Not a good night for you chic.

Asuka and Vitolio: Jazz
I clapped! LOVED IT!!!! That was a hot routine. You can tell they worked hard for that. The rock/jazz element of it all was really dope. Watching them in rehearsals, I thought it was gonna be some crazy ridiculous choreography and it wasn't even that serious. They did what they had to do. No they weren't completely in sync the whole time but the character and the connection they had during the dance was hot enuff for me.

Side note....I'm officially in love with Vitolio.

Melissa and Ade: Rumba
These two are out of control!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! That rumba was sexy as all hell! Tony created a sexy ass piece. Both of their bodies are off the chain, the way they slided and glided and fed off of each other was just delicious. Smashed it.

Side note....Ade's booty in those pants....Me likey Ade. Me like uh-lot. I see you boo. It's official....Ade and Melissa are my favorite couple.

Janette and Brandon: Hip-Hop
How cool was that?! A battle of rock and hip-hop! I love how Dave combined those elements. Janette was hot and doin her thing BUT BRANDON is reeeediculous! Brandon killed that. He looked so cute and believable but even more importantly, he was poppin and lockin like da rent was due. You betta work Brandon!

Side note...Shane Sparks take notes honey.

Kayla and Kupono: Viennese Waltz
I actually believed that that was a dreamy dance. It was nice and elegant. I wasn't wowed but it was really, really good. I will say that I enjoy Kayla and Kupono as a couple. They worked it out.

Side note...Kayla may be gorgeous to watch dance (as the judges seem to say all the time) but she ain't nobody's model. She might be able to model dance clothes while leaping in the air or doin some dance spin but um, seriously, her face. No.

Randi and Evan: Contemporary
Mia Michaels makes me wish I could dance. Like how Mia dances. I wanna go in her mind and see how she comes up with these routines. I love that this dance was all about Randi's booty and pretty much nothing else. Even more so, I think Evan and Randi did a great job makin this choreography look simple and booty-licious. This piece was performed very well but I almost feel like when you have Mia, what else can you expect?

Side note...if I can say one more thing about Mia, Toni Basil ain't neva lie when she said if I was on this show I would be prayin I would pull Mia Michaels' name out of the hat. Love her.

Caitlin and Jason: Pasa Doble
Mkay, YES!!!!!! Get off me! Finally a dance about tellin your partner to put that where! That was a performance, a true performance. The choreography was amazing and Caitlin and Jason executed perfectly. They worked for that and it was obvious. That last move where he threw her off him and rolled her on the ground....YES!!!! Good work outta you!!!

Side note...Jean-Marc and France seem like they are so the fun married couple to hang out with, right? Like you go to their house for dinner and wine and end up Pasa Doble'in in da living room with Jean-Marc and France rippin your skirt off cuz it's not the right one for the routine. I like them!

Jeanine and Phillip: Broadway
Fun! What a great way to end the show. That was a great Broadway routine. Phillip is so fun to watch. I enjoyed that! Jeanine was really cute too. They were in character and they were in sync and it worked. Good job!

Side note...Yay for Phillip's couch jump!

So listen, with only eight couples left and pretty much everyone being fantastic, it's hard to tell who is going to be in the bottom. All I know is, Karla and Jonathan better be dancin for their lives. That's all.

We'll see tomorrow....

Jill Scott Is A Single Mother....

Seriously. Jill tells Essence.com about her acting success, baby boy Jett, labor, being a mother and the fact that she and John are no longer together. Daayum.

ESSENCE.COM: Congrats on the possibility of an Emmy nod for Best TV Drama Actress! If you win you will be the first African-American woman to do so. Did you expect such acclaim or pressure?

JILL SCOTT: No pressure, but I'm excited. It's definitely something I dreamt about, and if it comes to fruition then that's wonderful. In regards to expecting the acclaim, I wish I was that forward thinking. We were just there doing a good job, and after the show was done we thought, Well, maybe. I am proud of the work that we did.

ESSENCE.COM: Does this Hollywood success mean your music fans won't hear your angelic voice anytime soon?

SCOTT: As much as I take a break, music never gives up on me. I have to write, sing, listen to my iPod, and that inspires me to create. It's a part of me that I don't ever want to go away, no matter what else I do, so I'd say that you can expect a new CD possibly this year, I hope.

ESSENCE.COM: Congrats to you on your new bundle of joy, Jett Hamilton. How has motherhood been treating you?

SCOTT: Wonderful. I named him after a black gemstone that my makeup artist in Africa had; it was simply called Jet, and I fell in love with it and the name because I thought my beautiful baby is a gem. I truly loved being pregnant and feeling what was going on inside my body and watching it change. It's difficult to recoup but still amazing nonetheless. I would have another one.

ESSENCE.COM: So does that mean you had an easy labor of love?

SCOTT: Not at all. I was in labor for 36 hours. After that experience, anytime I have reservations and think I can't do anything I remind myself that I survived the birth of my child (Laughs). Although I didn't scream my baby into this world, the pain continued after he was born for at least three weeks. During labor I felt like I needed to put the fire out. Everybody kept telling me the pain wasn't going to last forever but after 20 hours of it I left the building. I felt like I was on the ceiling looking down at myself like, Dag, girl, you still in labor? I know my experience isn't everyone's but I believe people need to be realistic when sharing their stories about their pregnancies and birth. When he arrived I held him in my arms for about an hour and then went to sleep because I was simply exhausted.

ESSENCE.COM: Well, at least your hubby-to-be was there to support. How has he been adjusting to Jett?

SCOTT: Yes, he was there and for a couple of days afterwards while I stayed in hospital, but John and I are no longer together. When you have a baby you're dealing with a lot of emotions and I don't know how much of it had to do with us breaking up, but it happens. We definitely love our son and we are co-parenting and working on being friends. It is what it is. I have a lot of support, so I want for nothing as far as that's concerned. I know some might criticize me or the fact that my son is being raised in a single-parent home, but I wasn't raised in a two-parent home and I had a good relationship with my dad. I have hopes for him and I'm sure his father will do his part as well.

ESSENCE.COM: As a mother, what has been the biggest lesson thus far?

SCOTT: My heart and prayers go out to all single moms because it's tough, and I can't imagine any teenager dealing with a baby and all those hormones raging. I can afford to have this child at 37 because I have a support system and I can talk to my girls, Mo'Nique and Erykah [Badu], but I don't understand how any mother does it alone. I don't believe I suffered from postpartum because I didn't feel depressed, but it was jarring and I can understand now how some mothers lose it. What he's taught me is that I thought I was grown and patient but I was neither until now. Even when I hold him and dance with him to his favorite song, Marvin Gaye's "Come Live With Me," and he holds me tighter and then relaxes, I realize that I never knew unconditional love like this before, and I'm looking forward to watching and helping him grow.

On one hand, I'm not surprised about the break-up...if I'm not mistaken John has a few baby mothas and after Jill had her son, she prolly realized just why. On the other hand, I'm so happy for all of Jill's success. She sounds like she's loving motherhood, learning and growing, and she's gonna be more than fine.

All I know is, with a break-up and a new baby....Jill's next album is bout to be reediculous. Can't wait!!!

Go GLAAD!!!!

I didn't plan on sayin anything about this Perez Hilton vs. Black Eye Peas bull shizz. Perez is obviously a drama queen and one of the Twats who Tweet. After supposedly catchin a beat down by Will.I.Am of the Peas, he goes on Twitter. I won't even go there....but ya'll know that if he was really as fucked up as he says he was "I thought my eye was gonna pop out and I was bleeding!" then the last thing he would have thought about was Twatting on Twitter. But those of us who feed on public validation - even in the "worst" of times - do such shizz. It's the era we live in. Why can't I get used to it?

The point of this post is that the reason Perez caught a left hook was because he called Will a faggot. On his blog video he says: "I don't need to respect you, and you're a fag. You're gay, and stop being such a faggot." Ummmmmm, altho violence is never the answer (scuse me as try to be politically correct...or something), you call somebody a faggot and disrespect people expect to get your ass kicked Bitch.

So GLAAD (The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) released this statement:

"These are vulgar anti-gay slurs that feed a climate of hatred and intolerance toward our community," Rashad Robinson, senior director of Media Programs at GLAAD, said in a statement issued to E! "For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is 'The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear' is incredibly dangerous. It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes."

I am really happy about this because seriously, if Will had been the one to call Perez a faggot the whole world would take to the streets burning Black Eye Peas cds, protesting, and figuring out a way to put him jail for slander. Ok maybe not the whole world, but you know it would be waaaaay out of control and ridiculous.

Good work out you GLAAD!

Superstar Requirement: Skinny (Duh)

Ne-Yo is on video telling an aspiring singer she needs to lose weight. He says:

"You might need to lose some pounds. It depends on the type of music you want to do. If you want to go the Jill Scott route do what you want to do because there is freedom in that lane, but if you want to stand on the same stage as Beyonce, if you haven’t won an Oscar first, it isn’t gonna happen. And by that I mean Jennifer Hudson. Jennifer Hudson is a big girl. She won an Oscar and then she went and stood on the same stage as Beyonce.

It just really depends on the music you are trying to do. Jill Scott, Chrisette Michelle and that Neo soul style of music. You are okay and you can stay who you are because that audience accepts you for who you are. But these shallow muthaf*ckers in the pop world, they want you to be nice and curvy. Beyonce just barely gets by and you have NO IDEA how hard she worked. Beyonce is naturally a big girl too....Quiet as kept."

I saw this video posted on a few blogs with people saying that Ne-Yo was wrong for telling this girl she needed to lose weight and he didn't need to hurt her feelings. Ne-Yo may be wrong about many things hiding in his closet, but this ain't it. First of all, I don't think it is a secret that Yonce has to work hard to keep her figure tight...let her pop out one baby. I actually appreciate Ne-Yo keepin it real with ol' girl. Her talent means nothing, unless she really is gonna stay in the neo-soul lane....then her talent means everything. (Altho I've told ya'll before how I saw Chrisette Michele almost two years before her first album dropped and my music biz friend told me that she wasn't coming out til she lost weight....so even then.) The women of the music world all look exactly the same with very, very, few exceptions.

You have to wonder if Beyonce allowed herself to be her true size would she be as famous and fabulous as she is? We all know she is beyond talented but we would love her as much?

Ne-Yo said that the pop world is shallow, which is true, but we support it and the crank out what we like. So are we brain washed into liking we like by the people who control who entertains us OR are WE the shallow people who love our idols to look like we don't?

Just wonderin....

So You Think You Can Dance: Round 2 RESULTS

Your bottom three....

So before we chat about the results, can I just say - for the bazillionth time - Mia Michaels is SICK!!!! Anything she touches is just out of control and reeeediculous!!!! The opening number for the result show was HOT. It amazes me how Mia is able to put stuff together in her head, then teach it and then have dancers bring it to life. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mkay, so now. Totally wasn't surprised at the results. Well, I mean, one couple was a tad of a shocker. Caitlin and Jason and Ashley and Kupono were no surprise. We knew that neither couple could pull off what Shane Sparks put together for them. I still have to scratch my head when I think about the fact that it was obvious that both couples would end up in the bottom three...dancers or choreographer...whose to blame?

On the flip side, I kind of LOVE that the surprise couple the landed in the bottom was Max and Kayla. Once again, after their overrated Salsa last week, their waaay better performance this week, and the fact that the judges seem to LOVE Kayla....I thought that America would just kind of follow suit and keep voting for them. This just means that the voting - at least this early in the competition - is really being based on performance and quality of dancing. It also means that America isn't as in love with Kayla as the judges are....maybe I'm not crazy.

And because of that, I'm so happy Vitolio and Asuka made it through. I was worried that they would get lost in the shuffle of their waltz and because they were in the bottom last week...you know how that goes sometimes. I will say tho, watching it again, Evan and Randi's Jive wasn't nearly as good as Max and Kayla's piece. They should have been the third couple fightin for their lives.

Yet they weren't and so we say goodbye to Ashley and Max. Not sad for either one. Ashley didn't stand out and Max maybe got by because of Kayla (scuse me while I choke at my own Kalya realization). Even more importantly, neither one danced for their lives.....say the way Jason did tonight....and the judges did what was necessary.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new couple - Kayla and Kupono.

So You Think You Can Dance: Round 2!!!

Really thought I would have some real pictures of my dancers by now (fuckin Fox.com) so that you really can see who I'm talking about BUT if you are a true SYTYCDer then you'll be fine with baby headshots and you'll know exactly who is who, what they did, and why I loved it.....or not so much. Let's get it!

Randi and Evan: Jive
Well it was obvious they were having.....FUN! I liked their Jive. I think Randi was givin it way more than Evan, so sometimes it looked like they weren't in sync. Overall though, they are both so tiny that they fit together very well. I think it was a great routine, they had some great moves and as much as I love me some tiny Evan, his fun Jive just didn't do it for me. I also didn't like the song selection.

Melissa and Ade: Jazz
HOTNESS!!!! That was art. These two are dope. That was amazing choreography! I loved it as soon as the music started and I saw Melissa in her hot pink leggins on Ade's broad ass back. They killed it! Their technique, the reach, the way they hit every move was amazing. Sonya gave them something reeediculous to work with. Whoooooo!

Side note...is Sonya's right eye wonky? Maybe that's her secret weapon.

Caitlin and Jason: Hip-Hop
Awwwww, so precious. Me likey these two uh-lot but I wasn't completely lovin this number. They just didn't seem to mesh in this routine. I was also surprised that Caitlin got a solo - that she didn't really kill altho I did like her back bend roll up move - but they both did what they needed to do...they just didn't smash it. A for effort tho.

Side note....who knew Shane Sparks was a smidget?

Janette and Brandon: Disco
I know that's right!!!! Off the chain!!! LOVED IT!!!! These two are tight!! Amazing!! Brandon is superb! But what else is new. Janette almost bust her ass but I bet most people didn't even notice cuz she went right back into her Studio 54 zsugsh. That split lift, the neck spin, and the speed and technicality of every move....SMASHED IT!!!!!

Side note....How you doin Brandon? "All I bench is girls"....mmmmhmmmmmm sure you do honey.

And I also have to point out...Lil C gets on my nerves.

Oh and one last thing...er'time I type something - like Studio 54 - Cat Deely says it. Shut up Cat!

Asuka and Vitolio: Waltz
That was beautiful. Technically just lovely. They connected amazingly, those moves...goodness. The splits and the floor lift spins, just beautiful. I really enjoyed that. Good work!

Side note....did Asuka say she's not attracted to him? How can she not want to wipe him down after lookin in those eyes?

Kayla and Max: Pop Jazz
That was rather dope. Waaaay better than that overrated salsa they did last week. I loved the concept of this dance and the way they used the entire stage. Hot routine. They made it do wut it do. But...how come I don't love Kayla as much as the judges do?

Side note....Brian (the choreographer) is a cutie!

Karla and Jonathan: Contemporary
That was not the best Contemporary I've seen on SYTYCD but I thought it was pretty and sensual and they did what they were supposed to do. They indeed had beautiful lines and movement. Very nice.

Jeanine and Phillip: Tango
I was worried but they pulled that off. Not off the chain but that was a beyond excellent try. That was really more Jeanine's dance. She did what she could to make it sexy and make it better. Yes the technique was kind of messy and you could tell that they knew that they didn't really know what they were doin. It was still nice to seem them try hard.

Side note....SO HAPPY Mary told Lil C to put that where. SHUT UP Lil C. You just be talkin shit and don't even know what you're talkin bout. His knees were bent cause they were sposed to be jackass. Ugh!

Ashley and Kupono: Hip-Hop
I was feelin it. Was worried Ashley wasn't gonna get her jacket off in time. There wasn't any kind of mirror or copy going on that they were supposed to be doin but they tried. I was pumpin it. I was bouncin. I kind of wish that it started with the jackets off and the serious gotta get that. This was the better of Shane's routines for the night.

Side note...is it Shane's fault that none of this routines were great tonite? I mean, two out of two...and I wasn't pumped about either choreography...hmmmm.

Obviously those two couples are in trouble. The best of the night were Janette and Brandon (again!!!), Ade and Melissa (again!!!) and I guess I'll go with Max and Kayla.

We'll see tomorrow....
