Today on Oprah, Mo'Nique with her slimmed down body and hairy legs was on and she was funny and fabulous as per usual. The best part however, was the preview of the trailer for Mo'Nique's new movie, Precious, with Paula Patton and Mariah Carey. This movie looks like it is definitely a must see. Don't be surprised if Mo' is accepting Golden Globes...maybe an Oscar?

Madea Goes To Jail

Will you be makin it your bizness to see this? I think I need to see Rudy play a crack head ho. I mean, she barely played a regula schmegula girl in the Beauty Shop movie, so I can't even imagine how she digs deep to play this role. Also, if I factor in the fact that Madea is funny and Derek Luke is the one person in the whole film that can act and is HOT....I think it is absolutely me worth me going to the theater to see it...but someone else will be payin. It comes out February 2009.

Kerry Washington Does Giant and Lakeview Terrace

The adorable and beyond pretty Kerry Washington did a hot spread in Giant Mag and just as I was coming across these photos, I also caught the trailer for her new movie with Samuel L. Jackson called "Lakeview Terrace". In the movie, Kerry is married to this white guy and they live next door to Sam who harasses them and also happens to be a cop so there is a whole lot they can do about it. I think this movie has been done before...didn't Ray Liota play a fucked up cop neighbor who was stalkin a dude's wife? I don't feel like lookin it up, but the point is, this movie is lookin kinda good....Sam does psycho scary man rather convincingly. In theaters September 19th.

Movie Trailer: The Secret Lives of Bees!

The trailer gave me goose bumps. Set in South Carolina in the 60's, "The Secret Lives of Bees" is the new movie starring Queen Latifah (August Boatwright), Sophie Okonedo (May Boatwright), and Alicia Keys (June Boatwright) who play the intelligent, cultured, and loving sisters who are also beekeepers. Along comes, Dakota Fanning (Lily) with her caregiver Jennifer Hudson (Rosaleen) who is running from her past and finds her way into the home of the Boatwrights. This movie is based on the best selling book of the same name and is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. I am thrilled this movie is coming to big screen and I think the cast is amazing. This one is a MUST-SEE! October 17, 2008!!!

THE WOMEN: TRAILER

This is a MUST SEE! What am I talking about?! Septemeber 12, 2008 The Women is hitting theaters and I am soooo excited! This movie features so many of my favorite women actors - Jada Pinkett Smith, Eva Mendes (drool), Annette Bening, Debra Messsing, Meg Ryan, Murphy Brown and the funny old lady who was in the movie with Adam Sandler and the daughter says mother are you drinking before noon and the clock strikes noon and she says,"well..." Yeah, her too. The trailer has me beyond pumped. The movie is about four best friends (Jada, Debra, Meg and Annette) and Meg's husband is cheating on her with the perfume spritzer bitch from the mall who happens to be hot to def -- that would be Eva. I love these bestest friends ride or die women movies. This movie is a more realistic, less fashiony, version of Sex and the City (kind of). I already know I'm Jada -- and not just cuz she's the only black bitch either. WATCH THE TRAILER NOW!!!! (yes, click on that damn link and watch it!)

He's Just Not That Into You.....The Movie

Here is the trailer for the movie version of the book I never needed to read, "He's Just Not That Into You"....I will catch this biz on HBO. Seriously. This movie could be funny as hell and in 1 minute you can tell that it is so not. I mean, I'm kinda upset too because I was ready to have somebody take me to the movies to see this so they can totally understand what is going to happen to them after our 'date' is over, but it just doesn't look good at all. First of all...do females really do like that first girl does (you'll see her...she chases dude down after he gives her a business card)? And really, this looks like a slightly updated version of Dawson's Creek, Party of Five, 90210 and My So Called Life all rolled into one. But um, what do you guys think? Are you seeing this? Funny...not a one black person must not know what it means to not have somebody not into them. Altho, I did see a token surrounding Drew Berrymore in that one scene. Source
