Now Keri....

Ya'll know I'm all for drama and a cat fight er'now and then....especially when the rappers scratch eyes out on wax. But this time, R&B chics wanna be startin something and Keri Hilson is the one coming out swinging. The question remains tho....who is she talking to? In like her 12th remix to "Turning Me On" this time, feat. T-Pain she says...

“I ain’t trying to start no mess but there’s something on my chest/ that I need to get off/ cause you turning me off /your vision cloudy if you think you the best, you can dance/ you can sing / but need to move it to the left/She need to go have some babies/She need to sit down she fake/them other chicks ain’t even worth my time to talk about/Been getting dollars/ go and get your money up” ......“Go head tell these folks how long I’ve been writing your songs. I’ve been putting you on. Just check the credits Hoe”

Now she could be talkin about Yonce, cuz she ain't the only bitch wishin Yonce would put it in a seat and give someone else a chance BUT there is no way she's really talkin bout Yonce. For one, she says "go and get your money up"....UMMMMMMM Yonce by herself made more money in one year than the banks needed in bail out money....not to mention Jay's money is her money too. So um, there is just no way in hell Yonce is Keri's target.

Ashanti doesn't exist, Christina Millian was never a contender (and especially now that she looks like she just got kicked off Brett Michael's Rock of Love bus....JUST WHY Christina?!), and I'll be damned if she's talkin bout Rihanna. So I'm gonna say it must be Ciara or Super C or whoever she is. Keri has indeed written songs for Ciara but here is my thing. Keri has written hot songs for a lot of people BUT she seems to have missed the mark in writing hot songs for herself. This "Turnin Me On" joint is her one hit and it isn't even major like that....I'm assuming that is why she keeps remixin it. I was actually waiting for Keri's album and even said she was one of my rising stars. I've been disappointed and I guess other people are too, so I understand why she's mad but I don't understand why she's mad at anybody else.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. We're talkin bout it, so her plan to get a lil attention worked.

New Muziq: Chris Brown feat. Keri Hilson

Superhuman is the lastest from C. Breezy and the hotness that is Keri H. I like this song quite a lot. I think its a grown-er and sexier version of 'No Air' and I think their voices blend well together. The video is rather dramatic and is prolly way better on TV but um, Keri looks cute and I'm feelin it. Enjoy!

Scene Stealin On The Set Of Miss Independent

So Ne-Yo's new song, 'Miss Independent', has struck a cord with many a independent female...the one who is handlin her own business, takin care of herself and payin her own bills etc. For the video, three of the cutest independent women make appearances; Lauren London, Gabby Union, and Keri Hilson. All three are lookin independently scrumptious while Ne-Yo looks he would much rather be spendin time at the water cooler with Mr. How U Doin.

I may be one of small few who isn't all that pumped about this song. Yeah, I sing it when it comes on the radio, and after lookin at these pics, I'm sure I'll love the video even more. However, I just want to say that I love an ode to women who are doing their thing and taking care of ourselves etc. I, for one, lean a lil more towards Mary J. Blige's words in 'Feel Like A Woman'..."I'm tired of screaming independent. I wanna start depending on you." Women, black women especially, take care of ourselves whether we have help or not, and while it is lovely when men can appreciate that, I am more happy when they let you know that "hey, I know you can pay your car note or your mortgage and can take yourself on a shopping spree, but let me handle that." We can be as independent as we want to be, but I need for men to stand up and play their position. And as Iyanla said, two things can't occupy the same space. There can only be one man. So stay independent ladies, but be sure to let your man be the man. Make sure he eats his Ps.

New Muziq: Keri Hilson and Alicia Keys

So I know you all heard about the drama with Rocsi and Terrence on 106 & Park. I haven't watched that show since AJ cried when it was time for him and Free to leave...but you know I tuned in for a bit yesterday to see if Rocsi was still there. For those that don't know, Terrence was basically sayin Rocsi's breath stinks and she can't read...supposedly he plays with her like this all the time. However, Rocsi was fed up and walked off the set. Anyway, don't you know Rocsi wasn't there yesterday. Keri Hilson was taking her spot for the day....and if you recall, I made Keri one of my Rising Stars and other than her disco ball BET Awards mess of an outfit, she's always cute and she is definitely beyond talented. She looked cute on 106 and I loved her earrings and I'm kinda feeling her new song "Energy" and video which they debuted on the show(of course). While I am into the song, I wanted her first single to be a bit doper...but she looks hot and if I hear the song enough I'll be talkin bout somebody takin my energy.

UPDATE: Supposedly Rocsi is on vacation for a week and Terrence will be out all next week. If their fight was a ratings stunt, it sure enough worked cuz like I said, I most certainly zugshed BET just to find out if Rocsi was there. And since I'm talkin bout how they got me....I happened to also catch Nelly's video for a song called My J'z or Stepped on My J'z or some bullshit like that. Isn't Nelly like 32 1/3 years old? Who still raps about sneakers or even worse someone steppin on them????!!! And Jermaine Dupri's Oompa Loompa ass is rappin too and when you wear children's sizes, seriously, are you allowed to rap about somebody steppin on your baby feet? Just askin. Anyhoo...here's Keri.

What do you think?

Alicia's new video for Superwoman is here. AK just can't go wrong in my eyes. It definitely tells the story of women who try to be everything to and for everybody. Jada Pinkett Smith makes a cameo. Hotness from AK as per usual.

Rising Star: Keri Hilson

If you even buy CDs anymore, how often do you take the time to read the writing credits in the liner notes? Well if you are one of those that actually pays attention to such details, then you should already be very familiar with Keri Hilson. She has written for everybody and their cousin's mother. Mary J., Britney, Puff, Usher, J. Lopez and the list goes on. She has done vocal guest spots on a few hits so if you didn't know she was writing most of your favorite bangers, you've seen and heard her. You know that Keri is hot to def -- um, have ya'll seen her in Usher's new "Love in This Club" video with her see through shiny body suit on doin some type of acrobatic move around Usher's neck and working that back arch and booty pout -- and she can sing. For real.

Keri recently did an interview with Essence.com and she discusses the car accident that changed her life and what we can expect on her new album.

About the car accident:
“I walked out of a car that was four wheels up and smashed,” she reveals. “I had fallen asleep at the wheel.” While working double duty majoring in theater at Emory College and trying to keep up with the late night music scene, Hilson found herself climbing out of a flipped vehicle bloody armed and bruised. “I was burning it at both ends,” she sighs. “It taught me that you can’t want it at any cost. You have to be realistic about your dream. It’s not about the quantity of time you spend, but the quality of work that you put in.”

About the album:
With a personal style described as “retro” and “vintage” and musical tastes ranging from Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, Feist, and Bobby Brown – “Tenderoni” is one of my all time favorite songs,” she declares – it makes sense that she’d choose “emotional” and “fun” to depict her debut. “I call it In a Perfect World because everyone has something in their life they would change if they could.” And change is definitely coming upon this songstress, but she’ll assure you she’s ripe for the shift. “I’m ready. I’m focused. I’m glad it’s finally here!”

I'm really feelin Keri and I'm thinking she might be one to watch....
