Isn't Black on Black Violence So 1987?

Some of you may or may not have heard about the teenage boy from Chicago who was jumped and beaten to death by other teenage boys. Horribly senseless, sad, and just depressing. Just WHY?!!!

I couldn't help but think this young boy who lost his life, this boy who was an honor student and loved computers, had the potential to grow up to be the kind of man Black women dream of. The boys who killed him are being charged as adults and will spend the rest of their lives in jail have lost the chance to figure out how not to be victims of their circumstance and grow up to be beautiful, productive amazing Black men. Sigh....my ice box hurts.

Nas wrote a letter to the murderers and young men headed down the same path:

Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong wars! Killing each other is definitely played out. Being hurt from the lost of a love one was never cool. Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong war! I know that feeling , that frustration with life and needing to take it out on someone, any one. But…

We chose the dumbest things to go the hardest for. I remember seeing deaths over 8 ball jackets, fila’s , and name plate chains. Deaths over “he say she say”!!!!! “I’m from This block or I’m from that block”, or “my moms n pops is f*cked up now the whole world gotta pay”!!!

I remember feeling like I was the hardest “n*gga” breathin. And I couldn’t wait to prove it. But let’s think. What r we really proving?? And proving what to who?? Everybody knows Chicago breeds the strongest of the strong but I just feel, me, being ya brother from another state feels your pain as if I grew up with you in ya very own household.

You have the ability and mind power to change they way we are looked at. Look who’s watching us young warriors, look who’s throwin us in jail constantly, look at the ignorance in the world. Look at the racist dogs who love to see us down. Lovin to bury us in the ground or in jail were we continue this worthless war on one another. Young warriors…. We are WASTING more and more time. We gotta get on our jobs and take over the world. Cuz This movie left the theaters years ago, Juice, Menace, boys n the hood , blood n blood out, Belly!

When we see each other why do we see hatred? Why were we born in a storm, born soldiers, WARRIORS….and instead of building each other up we are at war with each other.. May the soul of this young person find peace with the almighty. I’m with you young warriors. You’re me and I’m you. But trust me! you are fighting the wrong war.

-Nas

Speak On It Nas!

Side note, in Wendy Williams' latest chronicle RITZ HARPER GOES TO HOLLYWOOD! which I featured in the F.U. Giveaway in June she actually points out such buffoonery, racism, ignorance, and stupidity that goes on in all facets of the Entertainment world....and how for a dollah, Black people will do more than shuck and jive.

Speakin of Weddings...

We're learnin why men, Black men especially, would rather be at a wedding lookin for some sad desperate bridesmaid wishin it were her gettin married to fuck, than to ever be the groom.

Kelis got what she wanted. Nas has been ordered to pay $40K+ a month in spousal and child support for their new baby Knight Jones. He also had to pay Kelis' legal fees. On a personal note, if I were in Kelis' position I would prolly be thinking I should have got more, but as an outsider lookin all up in their business who has no idea what really happened between the two of them, I think Kelis prolly got way more than she deserves or needs.

It looks like the married men are the ones who take the major hits when it comes to the monthly pay outs. Russell Simmons pays Kimora $40K a month for two daughters and makes WAY more than Nas does. While Diddy has 3 kids and only pays Kim $20K a month and 50 Cent only pays about $7K a month. This could be another reason why dudes don't be tryna get married...if shiz don't work out they spend 18 years payin out their ass.

Redman and Method Man spoke on it:

“…as far as speaking on men and women in general. 50 grand a month for some p*ssy is some bullsh*t. Ladies for real all you did was f*ck your man. that money right there. A kid doesn’t need that much to survive. You trying to maintain your life style. That’s f*cked up. I want to see the shoe on the other foot.”

“If we don’t nip this sh*t in the bud right now and have the court system to see sh*t for what it actually is. If you ask me the court system is geared more towards the women than the men”

“What the kids don’t understand is the air they breathing. The lights. The cable. The Mortgage. All that fall on Daddy’s shoulders. Not to mention he has to pay this stanking azz b*tch that he don’t even f*ck with anymore to look good for some other n*gga. This sh*t is crazy to me and any chick that does that sh*t is foul.”

While I understand where Meth is coming from I really need him to know that the court system is not geared more towards women BUT if it is, that is the way it should be. All does not fall on DADDY'S shoulders. How many fuckin men don't even see their kids. How many men don't do shit for their kids? How many fuckin men DON'T pay their child support? How many men spread their seed all over the place and don't take care of not one of their kids or help their kids mothers out in any way? And YOU should be payin her to look good for some other dude cuz YOU are prolly the reason ya'll not together anymore anyway...while she was tryna look good for you and take care of your kids you was off fuckin some other chic. So she needs to find her somebody else that is willing to take her and YOUR kids.

It's all a mess. I can't. This is why we all need to be scraped out.

And Speaking Of Twats Who Tweet....

My special reader Zoe left a comment regarding Kimora Lee's need to Twitter the birth of her son and just after I responded, I came across more twating....

Yesterday, I'm sure you all saw the pics of Maxwell and Nas in Turks and Caicos poppin bottles and doin what they do with lucky women.

Today, Kelis took to Twitter and made some coincidental comments that could very much have you scratchin your head about who she's talkin bout. Hmmmmmmm.........

I happen to love Kelis but being bitter cause you see your man on twitter is not cute boo! When you was all in love and stuff your man was all man...and he loved you and your coochie. Now he's off tryna live his life and all of sudden...but wait, what if you really are talkin bout your ex, and you are basically saying that you knew he and Ne-Yo share space in the flamin closet....then um, fuck was you wit him for? I mean if I learned some shizz like that, I prolly would have left way before I let a closet dweller squirt baby makers in my cooch. But that's just me Kelis...we all know you're special....but in a good way. Still luh you boo.

Oh and if you're talkin bout Maxwell I will scratch your eyes out.

Noooooooo!

Kelis and Nas are getting a divorce and I'm not happy. I LOVE them together! And the baby is still cookin in da belly. WHY???? They were supposed to be the ones to make it. You know what, as soon as that baby comes they are gonna be all in love again. Kelis is just tired and only wants to eat ice cream and pickles. It's just her hormones. She'll be fine. They are gonna be fine. Her milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. I refuse to believe this just cuz there are actual court documents that say that Kelis wants spousal and child support and joint and physical custody of the unborn child. Nooooooooooo!

If you got real love let me see you put your hands up.....anyone? Anybody? Anybody out there got their damn hands up?!

Oh wait...I see you Baby Brown!!!

Nas Explains Why He Is Calling His Album Nigger

As you all saw, Nas and Kelis wore Nigger paraphernalia to the Grammy awards on Sunday to promote his new album. It wasn't until this CNN interview on the red carpet that I actually heard from Nas himself explain why he decided on the title for his upcoming album. He says that the word NIGGER means ignorant, so white, black, or whatever, we've all been deemed niggers at some point in our lives and we've all been discriminated against. He also has some white girls who are in his "crew" standing next to them rockin nigger-alia too. Kelis also mentions that John Lennon had a song called "Women are the niggers of the world"....watch for yourself.

And just cause I think this is funny....watch this short clip of a white boy tryna buy Nas's new album. Heehee....

Nigger - As

I've pondered...but I'm still not sure what Nas is trying to say with this.
Niggers wear glasses and read the paper?
What do you think?

If You Must Upgrade Your Man....

One of my most favorite couples....scratch that, I don't really have favorite couples. I guess what I meant to say was, one of the couples I most enjoy seeing out and about and learning about is Nas and Kelis. Individually, I respect them both as artist. Together, it is obvious that they clearly respect, adore, and love each other and in my opinion, represent a level of black love that many [black] people are never fortunate enough to attain. I love that. I can also appreciate that we don't see them out and about just anywhere and when we do, it is usually in support of each other. I also love that they aren't afraid to show affection towards each other but we never see them tonguing each other down. They are fabulous, classy and normal. I think they epitomize that Fab song...you know, I'm a movement by myself, but I'm force when we're together....yeah that's them.

Anyway, in the newest edition of Fashion Rocks they discuss their relationship and their new reality show, "Mr. and Mrs. Jones."

About the show:
“Sometimes I feel like “This is cool, man; I have TV cameras following me wherever I go,” he says, sipping a margarita from a plastic cup. “Other times I want to crawl under a rock.” His mouth turns down stubbornly. “I feel like an idiot–’Did I really agree to this?’ It feels so self-absorbed, so self-indulgent.”

“It’s going to be great, baby,” says Kelis in the calming tones of someone used to this conversation. “It has to be great, because if it’s not great we won’t let them put it on TV.”

How Kelis upgraded Nas' fashion sense:

Before I met Kelis, I wore Gucci or whatever was hot,” says Nas, with admiration in his eyes. “I didn’t dress badly, because there’s no excuse to disrespect the gods of the stage with some bummy shit: I always say you better rob, cheat, or steal threads to look good up there because hip-hop is about being fresh from your head to toes. But this is a whole different level. Kelis has really made me get my spirit up and step up my clothes game.”

Luv them! And you KNOW I'll be watching!
