Real World 20: Am I The Only Old Head Still Watching?

Mary-Ellis Bunim and Jonathan Murray are clearly geniuses of some sort. They started the Real World in 1992 and junkies like me have been addicted since episode number 1. I realized I was addicted last night when I was trying to decide whether to watch Real World or Top Chef. Both will repeat a gazillion times AND I also reminded myself that if I felt like it, I could just watch The Real World online whenever I wanted to. Not to mention, after the chair kicking by the lesbian on Top Chef after her girlfriend was kicked off AND after Dale was yelling and used the word "shit" like 12 times and it never fully made sense on last week's episode, you would think I would want to see what would be poppin this week. Somehow, 16 years, Gauntlets, Challenges, Award Bashes, and a wack ass Las Vegas Reunion show later, Real World is still my most serious addiction. And while I realized that some of these kids on the new cast were 4 years old during the very first season of The Real World and I should have turned my TV off after I watched the Clinton/Obama debate, I was not disappointed. Altho, I think that is a bad thing. This is not a re-cap per se. Just a few things I felt like saying. There are three black people in the house (ala Vegas except with two black boys this time....). So very interesting. One black guy, Will, is cute but I HATE his hair. Some people just shouldn't lock their hair. They are just too much for him. And then he lets them just hang all in his face like dookie earth worms. At first he was really loving Brianna, said she had everything that he liked and they seemed to have a lot in common....until he found out she was a stripper. He said he couldn't get down with a stripper and couldn't even look her in the eye anymore. He later explained (somewhat) why he felt that way and said he shouldn't judge her and wanted to be her friend. Now he likes Sarah....one of the white girls who has a boyfriend but she let Will take the gum out of her mouth with his mouth. I threw up in my mouth a little bit after that. Then there is Brianna. Another cutie who has hair I hate. WHY MUST YOUR BRAIDS BE SO FUZZY?! Like who does not get their hair done when they know they are going to be on TV? And you are a stripper so it isn't like you didn't have the money. Oh but wait...seems she may not have had the time to get her braids re-done because homegirl got arrested right before she got to Hollywood. She and her boyfriend Bobby got into an altercation and she punched him in the face and dude pressed charges. She now has a warrant out for her arrest. She tried to call Bobby to see if he would drop the charges and things got ugly because the first question Bobby asked was if she got laid last night....Brianna's yelling scared the other two white girls. They put up a sign in the phone room that says Don't Call Bobby. Joey, the buff white guy from Chicago who grew up getting his ass beat since he was two years old was really sweet with Brianna and it is clear they have thing for each other. She was also the first girl to say let's get naked. But what will happen with Brianna and her warrant? Will her dreams be deferred? Lastly, there is Greg. Greg who thinks he is too pretty to wipe his own ass. So technically, if casting had a choice, I doubt there would be a third black person in the house. Greg is in the house because he was chosen by the fans. Yes, they let the fans choose who they wanted to see in the house. Clearly, 'PretyBoy' as he calls himself, was what the people wanted to see. And I have no idea why. First of all, yes he is very nice looking but he isn't really as hot as he thinks he is. But I guess most people aren't. Secondly, his ego is ridiculous. He is hated by the housemates most immediately. They tried to all go out and have a good time and he left because he doesn't wait on lines (or something like that). At another spot he said he was bored. Then things come to a head when he gets in the hot tub and tells Joey he is a weirdo for wearing a tank top in the hot tub. Joey gets upset. Brianna tries to tell him why everyone is mad and he doesn't care. He calls his mother and says that he has no time for these peasants. Yes, he called them peasants. That's all.
