So You Think You Can Dance: Plus A Lil Extra

I didn't feel like addressing a couple of emails I received askin me what I thought about the American Music Awards - and why I didn't blog about it - in a separate post, because one, I think it's old news and for two, that shit was boring as hell and I fell asleep and had to watch everything the next day online. So before I begin my weekly SYTYCD re-cap I'll just say this:

  • I will always love me some Janet Jackson but her 8 minute medley is something that I've heard and seen before a ga-zillion times and not only that, it was missing the excitement, the energy, and fabulousness of my Janet. I'm a fan of people goin out on top. Janet may want to think about that. And even if you do gain a lil weight and must perform maybe not wear...whatever that was.

  • Jennifer Lopez's song sucks ass, her performance sucked even more ass, it was funny to see her bust her ass, and she needs to stick to puttin her name on smelly perfume.

  • Mary J. Blige gets better and better with age. I will never question her talent or "intelligents". Go Mary!

  • The best thing about Rihanna's performance was her outfit and laser works.

  • If I hear Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' "NY State of Mind" one more time....

  • Whitney Houston is back! She sounded beautiful and looked gorgeous. Proud of Whitney!!!

And there you go.

So now let's get on with why we're really here. SYTYCD! (Sorry that I find SYTYCD way more entertaining) Two routines per couple tonight. Let's get it!

Ellenore and Ryan

The Lindy Hop...how fun! That was really cute and energetic. Who knows anything about the Lindy Hop from a technical aspect, not me that's for sure, but it looked hard without looking hard. I loved all the lifts, the kicks, and um "coffee grinders", and that final split by both of them. Awesome!!!

Next dance Ellenore and Ryan get is Broadway and these two just proved yet again how great they are. I totally believed that Ryan was the puppet master and Ellenore played the perfect puppet. They totally got into character, they were entertaining, and so believable. I have such a total dance hottie crush on Ellenore. She is a joy to watch. LOVED IT!!!

Kathryn and Legacy

A Jazz piece by Sonya. Mkay, this piece starts with Legacy doing an out of control backwards "crab walk". SICK!!!! This routine was great!!! I have to say that I watched Legacy way more than I watched Kathryn. Yes, it was smart of Sonya to add a lil dash of Hip-Hop into her routine, but I don't think it was for Legacy's benefit. It was to help make the routine even greater. Legacy doesn't need any hand outs or add-ins or extras. He is really a true dancer. And as he said, "I was dancing." Let em' know Legacy! Now, Kathryn did a great job as well especially with her split and back leg toe point. And I did like that leotard she was wearin. This is definitely one of the best routines all season. Loved it!!

So for their second piece, Legacy and Kathryn get the Viennese Waltz. Beautiful. That was gorgeous choreography and it was so beautifully executed. And wait, is Legacy crying about hope? OMG, he is soooo makin it to the top ten. I think I love him. But seriously, technically I couldn't tell what was wrong, I just knew that I thought everything they did was right.

Karen and Victor

These two lost their partners last week and are working together for the first time. They got the Tango and....Victor is way too gay for Karen. There was no hot connection, I wasn't turned on, and it was obvious nobody wanted to rip anybody's clothes off when it was over. With that said, technically I think they did very well. I think they hit their marks, they had the poise, the moves, and the look. So it was good and stuff but eh.

Karen and Victor get Hip-Hop for round two. Boom Boom Kat is back again. She's such a wonderful mess and she gives these dancers good stuff to work with. That said, that wasn't good. Karen was tryna dance her ass off and she did but something was off...and I think it was Victor. He needs to go. Not great at all.

Mollee and Nathan

The youngins start off with some Hip-Hop choreographed by Jamal Sims. I have to say, it was pretty decent. The routine wasn't technically difficult and it wasn't anything to "phone home about"...but it was aight. I like that it is obvious that Nathan and Mollee enjoy dancing with each other but I'm with Nigel...if they make it to next week, I'm so ready for them to dance with someone else. I think they young/dumb each other down dance-wise.

These two are doin The Can-Can with the help of Tyce Diorio. And wow, I'm totally impressed. I was just waitin for this to be a total womp womp but it was actually really great! And I finally got to see the Nathan that I loved from the very beginning. Nathan has skills! And Mollee was great too, and I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up in Circ Du Soleil (or Circus Soil Le as my friend Tee would say) or in that kind of performing dance troupe. The dance was obviously energetic and full of kicks and spins and all that great stuff. They were great. The Can-Can prolly saved these two.

Noelle and Russell

Russ and Noelle start off with a Samba. First of all, great song selection..."Hips Don't Lie" and while it wasn't as sexy as it needed to be, they tried to make it do wut it do. You can tell they give it everything every time and that's why I love them. So wish it was better, but still get an A for effort from me. I also don't ever want to see Russell in that outfit or any outfit like that ever again.

The second time around Russell and Noelle perform a Tyce D. Contemporary piece which included paint and creating art. That was an amazing routine. They absolutely hit their marks, executed wonderfully, and effortless. And you could tell from the very first move that it was going to be worth watching. So happy they ended with such a strong routine. Excellent!

Ashleigh and Jakob

First let me say that Ashleigh is gonna miss Jakob cuz he is the reason she's still on this damn show. But anyway, their first dance is a Lyrical Jazz piece and it is another Sonya original beauty. And another opportunity for Leaps and Bounds aka Jakob to dance circles around Ashleigh. So here is the thing. I just need to know how Jakob is splittin, liftin, spinnin, leapin and boundin while Ashleigh is doin like a kick and walk? It is obvious that the choreographers enjoy giving Jakob the major moves cuz he can do them. You can't help but watch him and love him. Now I do think this was Ashleigh's best piece all season. And this piece was fantastical. Loved it.

Leaps and Bounds and Ashleigh end the night with a Cha-Cha. Finally, something Ashleigh knows how to do! This was the first dance that I actually paid attention to her throughout the dance. She managed to put Jakob in the background a lil bit. It was sexy, it was hot, it fun, it was entertaining and not much else to say but they worked that. And I stand corrected...THIS was actually Ashleigh's best piece all season. NICE!

So seriously, dancers were dancing tonight and the choreographers were giving the dancers dance! So many of them brought their best tonight like Ryan, Ellenore, Legacy, Kathryn, Jakob and dare I say Ashleigh. Even with that Can-Can I think Nathan and Mollee should be dancin for their lives but Karen and Victor are the two that I can actually put money on. And while I think Russell and Noelle's Contemporary piece was great, I think they might be in trouble too.

We shall see tomorrow! Good work people, good work!

Whitney Makes Wendy Do The Ugly Cry

Oh Wendy...I miss you so much!!! You guys have no idea how much I can now live without my radio now that Wendy isn't on it. Ugh!!!! But I digress...

Wendy was on her show talkin bout the Whitney interview with Oprah, as everyone is, and she broke into the ugly cry because as an ex-offender (read: former crack head) Wendy feels that Whitney didn't take ownership of her real crack situation. You see, only those who got to listen to Wendy er'day on the radio know her bizness like that. Now that America is her new best friend, she's sharing this information with all of them for the first time. So it brought on the nostril flares and the ugly cry...

What I find hilarious about this whole situation is that regardless of whether Whitney smoked crack from a dutch or a pipe, the reason Wendy even has a show right now is thanks to the fact that Whitney was smoked something. Whether you were able to listen to Wendy's show er'day or not, after her infamous Whitney interview, Wendy's professional situation blew up majorly. So really Wendy, who cares?

Whitney No Longer Loves Bobbeeeeeeeeeee

Now that I've seen parts 1 and 2 of Whitney Houston's sit down with Oprah, I can speak on it.

I watched part one with my body tense and my hands clenched literally scurred of what I was going to hear. As much as I wanted to know er'single last detail, there was a part of me that didn't want to know about the destruction, the mess, and the pipes. But what do you know, there were no pipes...only coke laced weed. Sigh of relief on that one. But seriously, I was thinkin Whitney would either be very defensive or way too telling...and I am so glad that she was neither. She spoke her truth, in an elegant matter, with a lil of Newark, New Jerz on the side. Cuz she will fight you back.

If there was nothing else more obvious, it was the fact that she loved Bobby Brown. Even referred to him as her drug and says she was weak when it came to him. They loved hard and fought harder and then became coke heads together...he was also an alcoholic and an angry one. In his fits of rage he would be emotionally abusive to her, he smacked her once, and spit in her face. He also spray painted evil eyes around the house and cut her head off a family picture. Bobby Brown, indeed, is a piece of shit. But it also sounds to me like he's bi-polar...and his mouth is crooked so you have no idea what kind of added trauma that causes.

While Whitney was at the height of her career, Bobby was doing whatever he could to destroy her. His career had been faded and she was the reason for everything...some men have trouble dealing with that. Especially when you are in the same profession and people see you only as the husband of an Iconic Megastar. Oprah asked was Bobby jealous of her. In a way, I kind of feel like Oprah was directing Whitney in what she wanted her to say. Of course he was jealous of her...but I think Oprah should have let her suggest that on her own. It was obvious that Oprah was TEAM Whitney (and we all are) but I do feel like Oprah asked questions that were leading and part of her own perception of what she thought was going on at the time. Like yup girl, I knew it was Bobby all along. I knew it!

Anyhoo...I came across this comment made by this dude named "Onion" on The Root after part one aired. He said:

"Where would women be without a bad man to blame? The question asked by Oprah in her promos for this show was, “What was the worst thing he did to you?” A better question is, “Why the hell would you marry a man who was so bad in the first place? What was it about you that made you desire a person of such low repute?” OK, that’s two, sorry. But once again there’s nothing like a good dose of victimhood and sense of entitlement to warm the hearts of women all over this country. Whitney got what she deserved. Maybe she was just a shell to begin with and all she was was a voice. It was known that Bobby had babies and babie’s momma’s. So, again why Whitney? I think it was because she wanted to ride that ride, and so she did, and she ended up with a very bad hang over. It’s what she deserved because it’s what she asked for. He didn’t force her to marry him. Be a woman and own up to your own mistakes. Your own worst enemy was not Bobby, it was you, Whitney."

Minus the angry black man part, I had to agree with this Onion dude. I think Whitney would agree with him too. Especially since in part two of interview she says she has no regrets because it was in divine order...and as she sang, she didn't realize her own strength until now. It is real easy to sit back and say Bobby did this to her. Yeah, of course he was a bad influence. Of course he used the fact that she loved him so deeply and the fact she took her vows as seriously as they should be taken, to take her down in any way he could once he realized that he was officially a loser. And yes, he is the scum of the earth. However, Whitney played a role in this too. She made the choice to marry Bobby, to breed with Bobby, and smoke coke laced weed with Bobby. And it was her money buyin the shit. She could have at any moment walk out the door....altho she said he wouldn't let her. Now Whitney, how about we just say you didn't want to leave, you weren't ready to leave, and you couldn't leave because you didn't realize your own strength and that had nothing to do with Bobby.

But despite all that, the best part is that eventually she did find the courage and the strength to leave...and she's back and I for one, am so happy for her. She sounded way better than I thought she would during her performance and I teared up. I feel proud of her, genuinely proud and excited for her. Whitney feels like family. She's so familiar, she's so real, she's so every woman.

So now that that is all said and one, I just want to know two things...am I the only one who heard Bobbi Kristina singing on Good Morning America and heard that she did not get the sangin gene and has no business tryna be in the sangin business? And no matter what was going on in their lives, did not nary a person notice that Bobbi Kristina needed braces dumb long ago to fix that 5 mile gap in her teeth that she unfortunately inherited from her crazy ass daddy?

Luh u Whitney, mean it!!

One Time For Whitney Ya'll!!

Well one thing is definitely for sure, Bobbi Kristina did not get the sangin gene. But more importantly, while it is obvious that Whitney can no longer SANG like we know Whitney can sang, her performance on Good Morning America was rather great. I think she looked great, she was entertaining, and even with the voice crackin she sounds a mazillion times better than so many of these new age no talent havin heffas.

Good job Whitney. Welcome back. We missed you, boo!

Whitney Elizabeth Houston! Just Hell And No!

UPDATE:

And that most certainly explains the wet and wavy weave.

This is supposedly Whitney's album cover for her come-back album, and if it is, somebody needs to be bitch slapped and fired immediately. However, I'm going to believe that this is the work of some obsessed Whitney fan who has fun with photo shop. And whoever you are, you need more people. This shit is horrible! First of all, Whitney would never rock a wet & wavy weave. Never! Secondly, could it be anymore obvious that Whitney's face has clearly been plopped on someone else's body? And the way her name is written - with the I and the T and the H all connecting...um, it is not 1987! Ugh. Even on the highest of crack highs, Whitney would never approve this bullshit. (Crack is one hell of a drug tho....let us pray.)

Crooked Mouth Tells All!

In Bobby Brown's autobiography “Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But,” due out next month, he talks about everything from his drug use to his marriage to Whitney, and his relations with SuperHead.

“I never used cocaine until after I met Whitney. Before then, I had experimented with other drugs, but marijuana was my drug of choice,” Brown writes in “Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But,” out next month. “At one point in my life, I used drugs uncontrollably. I was using everything I could get my hands on, from cocaine to heroin, weed and cooked cocaine.”

As far as his 15-year marriage to Houston is concerned, it “was doomed from the very beginning. Within the first year we separated, with several more to follow,” Brown writes. “I think we got married for all the wrong reasons. Now, I realize Whitney had a different agenda than I did when we got married . . . I believe her agenda was to clean up her image, while mine was to be loved and have children.”

“I am guilty of sleeping with other women . . . Women are always throwing themselves at you. I’m only human, so I would make the mistake and bite the hook sometimes . . . I let the testosterone take over.” One of his most public indiscretions was an affair with former exotic dancer Karrine “Superhead” Steffans. “Yes, I’ve slept with her,” he confesses. “Yes, I’ve spent several nights at her house. But she was only good for what her nickname stood for.”

First of all, I can't wait to read this book. But secondly, did he really say that Whitney married him to clean up her image?! Are you kidding me?! Bobby. Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby. Clearly the drugs have killed all of his brain cells so the words he speaks come straight out of his ass. Whitney was America's Darling! When she married Bobby everybody was like, really Whitney?! The Greatest Love of All is marrying It's My Prerogative?! No and no! Now granted, we later learned that Whitney is more hood and ghettofried than any of us could have ever imagined (Bobby! I love you Bobby!) BUT it was clear that he married her to elevate his status and for her money and she married him because he was just as hood and cracked out as she was.

I think I might have to hit the Pre-order on Amazon.

Whitney's Back Ya'll!

Whitney has put the pipe down...YES!!! She looks gorgeous and she's returned to speaking in the 'proper' dialect.... you know, the one Clive trained her to speak in. I'm so happy for her. Take a look at her appearance at the London Fashion Rocks event.

Relaxed, Rested, Rejuvenated and Stank As Per Usual!

I'm back bitches!!! F.U. is all tanned and luscious and sad as all hell to be back amongst Americans sigh...but I must say, it does feel good to be home....just a lil bit. More importantly, it looks like I didn't miss too much and I've decided to not even waste my time trying to re-cap the week that I missed....but um, what ya'll know about Forever Crackheads in Love Whitney and Bobby dating again?

It must be the crooked mouth...maybe cuz its crooked Bobby can work the tongue on the coochie in ways we can only imagine...but its prolly the crack. And it looks like Whitney is running out of money too cuz why in the hell are they at Joe's Crab Shack...I do love a Joe's Crab Shack but really Whitney? Crack is a hell of a drug!

It's good to be back!
