Celeb Life: The Rider

You all know what a Rider is, right? For those that don't, it is basically a contract with a list of demands provided by the celebrity to the sponsor/producer and/or whoever is responsible at the venue in which they are performing or making an appearance. Anyhoo....we've heard about some high profile celebrities and their riders...

When recording for a charity event, J.Lo, requested a trailer of substantial size, furnished all in white with flowers, tablecloths, drapes, candles, and couches, a VCR and CD player, and 43 music CDs selected by her covering all the latest R&B, hip-hop, and salsa. Oh, and she also demands that her coffee be stirred counter-clockwise only.

Cher requires that her wigs get their own dressing room.

All items in Prince's dressing room must be covered in plastic until they are uncovered by someone in his party.

And Mariah will sometimes request bunny rabbits, puppies, and kittens to keep her company backstage, Cristal champagne, a box of bendy straws to sip it with, and the requirement of a special attendant to take care of all her needs.

And we know the list goes on and on...the bigger the celeb, the crazier the list, right?

Well you be the judge. My new friend and industry spy (hey boo!) provided me with a looksy at the riders for Day 26 (I can't even believe they are allowed to have one)and Tony Toni Tone' who are back on the road...and you know it feels good!

Clearly, TTT requires a whole lot more than Day 26...or at least there are prolly some things that Day 26 is not able to ask for just because nobody cares that much and is not willing to provide them with the extra bullshit. But the real point here may be that whether you are a random celebrity or one that has been around forever, celeb life is fabulous.

More importantly, I need a rider for my everyday life. Hot & Spicy Cheez Itz only in the 12.7 oz box! White meat Popeyes only with honey for my biscuit! Blueberry Martinis served as soon as I sit my ass down!

Uh, what's TTT gonna do with the Ginger root?

OK, my rider (this is fun):

- Neutrogena-type soaps (HA..like TTT)
- 10 grilled Nathan's hotdogs on wheat buns, with spicy mustard
- 5 lbs of sour chewy watermelon slice candies
- 20 bottles of Vitamin Water (Not the "50 Cent" kind!)
- 3 pillar YlangYlang candles
- 10 White Castle burgers
- Bottle of Tums or Mylanta
- 1 bottle Patron and margarita mixer

..ok, I'll stop here, I can go on and on...HA!
