Yo! That was great!!!!! Great, great, great on so many levels. It was especially refreshing to hear a white, American male speaking in this way. Not necessarily, speaking what is my or his opinions, but speaking truth to the American situation and psyche.
He shadowboxed the interviewer until the very last second of the interview. Loved it!
Thank you for posting this.

Simone, how could I NOT post this?! I literally watched this, mouth agape and literally couldn't believe this white American preacher went toe-to-toe with this other white American who is in the profession of saturating the media with racism and bigotry. When he said "Rev. Wright was a marine and then asked was Bill O'Riley a marine? No. Rev. Wright served this country." I was nodded my head. Then he says "He loves America...but he has big problems with America." I'm like wow, speak on it. Then when he said, "....what was Katrina? Racism and classism. There are more black people in prison than any other race but the government says that 72% of drug users in this country are white males...." I was damn near on my feet!

But he had me when he said "It is interesting to me that when white people critize America, they're critical but when Black people criticize America they're haters of America...it is very interesting how we have those double standards in this society. When black people raise issues they're angry and they're mad but when white people raise issues they are asking questions." DEEP!! Coming from a white man!!!!

It is so refreshing to hear this from someone from the other side who can actually see and understand. He knows the difference between a preacher and a senator running for president. He was not going to allow this idiot or sway him or make him "denounce" people that he stands by. You don't have to agree with everything someone says or believes in but it makes all the difference in the world when you can understand the person and why they may say what they say or why they believe what they believe. It isn't about right or wrong but it is about acceptance and understanding.

This man gets it. A billion more to go.
