Surviving The Strike!

Mkay so last night we got new TV. A new Desperate Housewives ep aired (very likely the season finale) and I wasn't entertained. First of all, how Tom and those kids just run out from all that debris and destruction? They just ran out like MOM, whew, good thing I only got a splinter after the roof fell on me. Seriously, like boo and boo. I did giggle when Gabby was pushin the drug thing so Carlos would be high when she was telling him that she lost the papers and now they are broke. Gabby and Carlos about the only good thing left on that show....and I know once we find out what Dana Delany (um, Katherine I think her name on the show is) did, it won't be near as tragic and dramatic as they are building this up to be. I hope it is, but I'm doubtful.

Anyway....as I mentioned in a previous post, we have a new Grey's to look forward to on Thursday but after that, there really aren't too many more new episodes of anything left. So what is a TV-nista to do? I mean, I think I've seen every episode of Family Guy and would watch them all again. Thanks TBS! And I wouldn't survive at all if it weren't for Bravo. Thank goodness for HBO and Starz but I've watched Dreamgirls about 23 times in the last two weeks and when HBO switches to the new movies of the month, what am I to do? I think I've already expressed the insanity that is reading a book but.....it might be unnecessary. EW.com has provided us with a look at what we can expect to look forward to!

American Idol - Jan. 15th (Fox)

A no brainer. We'll all be watching whether we want to or not.

Dance War - Jan 7th (ABC)

No thanks. I'll wait for So You Think You Can Dance.

Celebrity Rehab - Jan 10th (VH1)

Um, Hell Yeah! Fit Club on Drugs. How can you not watch?!

Breaking Bad - Jan 20th (AMC)Yeah I don't know how many of you have AMC, but umeruh, I do and I'm pumped! The dad from Malcolm in the Middle (he's a fav) finds out he has cancer and is going to die so he starts a crystal meth business.

In Treatment - Jan 28th (You need HBO)

Mkay, Blair Underwood. That's enuff for me!

Lipstick Jungle - Feb 7th (NBC)Same shit as Cashemere Mafia except LJ only has 3 women as opposed to 4. Girlfriends did Sex in the City over and did it best -- sort of and should have stopped about 2 season ago but still -- let's let the girlfriends in some city go unless someone can really put a new fabulous spin on it...puh-lease. Thanks.

JERICHO - Feb 12th (CBS)People protested to get this back on. So if you watch, lucky you!

Farmer Wants A Wife - TBD but sometime in Feb (The CW)

The Bachelor on a tractor. Boo and boo.

Oprah's Big Give! - March 12th (ABC)

Oprah continues to spread her good thru others...10 contestants travel the country to see who can do their best philanthropic work....I don't know how that's a competition unless someone decides to drink all the water they are supposed to be supplying but it seems like those who need to benefit, most certainly will. Only O. Love her.

THE RETURN OF JEZEBEL JAMES - March 7th (FOX)

A new show about Parker Posey's sister (Claire from Six Feet Under) carrying a baby for her. I'll try one ep just cuz I like Claire.

Unhitched - March 2 (FOX)

Rashida Jones has left The Office and is starring in this new show about 4 friends who all are dealing with dating again after very long term relationships. Rashida is worth a preview.

Overall, it looks like I might just need to make a few trips to my local library. There are some shows that I think have promise, but there just isn't enough to fill in all the gaps. Guys, I might recommend you becoming an active member of Netflix and or get a hobby, get you a Wii, start dating or possibly start fuckin your man again...he may like that....and figure out something else better to do than sitting in front of the TV. Thanks to the strike (unless mircales do happen) its gonna be a long, cold, and boring winter. Sigh.

I’m looking forward to In Treatment, but since I never channel surf past HBO, I have a feeling I’ll miss it, and will end up ordering the dvd once it’s released.

Hmm, Lipstick Jungle is a show I should be anticipating. But the pic alone isn’t doing anything for me. Looks like a middle-aged slumber party.

Marleaux, doesn't that one bitch in the Lipstick Jungle pic look like Valerie Bertinelli...the bitch losing weight with Jenny Craig? And I should be looking forward to Lipstick Jungle too but I wasn't impressed with Cashmere Mafia so it is highly unlikely that I will like LJ. I will be giving it a preview tho.

Good post! I doubt I'll be watching 95% of those shows but at least now I know why.
